Welcome to Scottish Politics, a site dedicated to the politics of Scotland. We aim to offer a guide to Scottish Politics.

This site is a completely independent guide to the politics of Scotland. It is not funded by any Government body, political party, or any other organisation. It is run by the Scottish Politics Research Unit of Alba Publishing.

The creation of the Scottish Parliament in 1999 is probably the single most important event in Scottish history for three hundred years. For the first time since 1707, Scotland has its own Parliament and with it the ability to pass laws which will directly effect the people of Scotland. How this will effect the future of Scotland, and the future of the United Kingdom is as yet uncertain.
